TA100 Pro - HandPunch Networking

Summary

In order to get our HandPunch type clock communicating on the network we need to assign an IP address. You or your network administrator must select an IP address for this clock to be used in communication with your TA100 Pro software. Please note that you must know the IP address, the gateway address and the host bits for the IP address. If you do not know your host bits there is a useful online tool available at www.subnet-calculator.org . This tool will aid you in determining the host bits as needed during clock network configuration.

Once you have decided on the IP address that this clock will use you must assign it to the clock. Essentially you must follow a set of steps to configure this clock to your network. Doing so will allow network communication with the clock.

On a factory default clock (one without supervisors or employees) you would follow these steps to set your IP address, host bits and gateway:

1. Press Clear
2. Press Enter
3. When prompted for password enter "2"
4. When you get to the "Set Serial" configuration area select "yes" or "#"
5. Enter your IP address using leading zero's (e.g. 192.168.001.050)
6. Enter your gateway IP address using leading zero's (e.g. 192.168.001.001)
7. Enter your host bits
8. Ping the clock from a computer on the network
9. Once the clock responds to ping everything is OK!

Below is an example of a clock successfully responding to ping:
