TA100 Pro - Differentials

Summary

In this tutorial we will cover setting up differentials. Please note that in addition to what is covered here you may need to consult with your payroll provider on the configuration of the export into their software.

To begin, login to your TA100 Pro software. Once you are there navigate to the System Setup menu. From there select Policies. On the Policies window you will select the Differential tab.

Once we are there click the Edit button to edit your differential settings. You are allowed up to three different differentials. Each differential may either be an Addition or a Multiplier.

An Addition differential simply states that in addition to the employee's regular wage, when the differential applies add an additional dollar amount to that employee's regular wage.

The multiplier works in multiplying the wage by a percentage where 1.00 would be 100% and 1.50 would be 150%.

In our example we'll configure Differential 1 to be an Addition type in the amount of .30 or 30 cents extra per hour. We're also going to allow the Differential fixed to IN setting.

The Differential fixed to In setting tells the software that all of the worked hours will be at Differential pay, if the employee actually Clocks In during the Differential window. If this option is unchecked and the employee starts before the Differential window, but continues working through the window, they will receive Differential pay for all the hours worked after the window started.

Now that we've configured our settings for the differential itself, we need to setup each shift with the time in which that differential applies. Close your Policy window and open up Configure Shifts. This may be done so by going to the System Setup menu and selecting the Shifts option. Once you have the Configure Shifts window open you'll click on the Differential tab.

In the example each day of the week will have a From time, or our differential window, of 16:00 to 00:00 or 4pm to Midnight. Anyone who has hours reported in the system within this time frame will receive pay at the differential rate. You may set which days this differential time will apply to.
